OPP arrest man for impaired driving on Highway 62

BELLEVILLE – A 23 year old Belleville man was charged on Monday afternoon with impaired driving.

According to a OPP news release, the incident occurred at 5:00 p.m. when an officer patrolling Highway 62 near Victoria Road saw a vehicle going southbound on the highway commit an infraction. 

When the officer pulled over the vehicle he noted that the driver looked to be under the influence of alcohol.

During the officer’s investigation of the man a field sobriety test was given, in which he failed.

The driver’s vehicle was impounded and his licence suspended for 90 days.

The man is due to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton Dec. 13, 2017.
