BELLEVILLE – Belleville may be one step closer to offering a warm place to sleep for those without a roof after a donation on Friday.
The Quinte and District Association of Realtors board of directors made a donation of $5,674 to the Grace Inn Shelter , a planned homeless shelter for Belleville. The money comes from the Ontario Realtors Care Foundation , which collect members’ dues for the purpose of giving back to the community.
Since January of last year, the shelter has been raising money and is hoping to open in the new year, according to its website.
The plan is to have 21 beds for adults in downtown Belleville and to focus on dignity, community and mentorship.
