BELLEVILLE – Rita Turtle is closing the book on her career after announcing her retirement as chief executive officer and chief librarian for the Quinte West Public Library. [2]

Turtle began her career in 1991, as a librarian at the Trenton Public Library; shortly after that, she took over the position of CEO of the Quinte West library. With 20 years in the position, Turtle has integrated two new library management systems, and overseen the addition of two new libraries in Quinte West.

“After all my years in this position, I can honestly say I loved my work and would recommend this career to anyone with an interest in information management,” Turtle was quoted as saying in the announcement about her retirement.

She will continue as CEO until the end of the year, and assist the board of directors in finding a replacement to help to ease the transition.
