BELLEVILLE – A homeowner and a local business are waiting for answers after being the victims of break-ins in Belleville on Wednesday.
The first incident happened around 4:40 a.m. on Wednesday at a business on North Front Street, Belleville police say. The front window was smashed and the intruder got through the front door, but nothing was taken.

The second break-in was reported at 2:25 p.m. Police were called to a home in the northeast area of the city after the owner returned to find a patio door open. Cash and jewelry were stolen, police said. Officers seized other items in the home for further forensic examination.
