BELLEVILLE – The Belleville Fire Department [2] is inviting the public to its headquarters at Station and Bettes streets Tuesday to showcase a bit of its history. The department will be displaying artifacts donated by the Vance (Russett) and Emerson families.
The artifacts include original pieces of fire department equipment such as helmets used by the Belleville Fire Department as long as 150 years ago.
“This is an opportunity for the public to see some of the history of their fire department prior to being catalogued and restored by Glanmore National Historic Site,” said fire prevention officer Carson Cross.
“We also welcome the public to visit our current displays and tour their community fire station,” said Cross.

He said that the department is expecting members of council, retirees, current members and the general public to attend this special occasion.

The official ceremony will start at 7:00 p.m and staff from Glanmore House will be on there to answer questions from the public.

Community archivist [3],  Amanda Hill will be there to answer any questions about the artifacts.
