BELLEVILLE – Christine Walt is one of several sports figures who were inducted into the Belleville Sports Hall of Fame [2] on Saturday.

Walt has been in women’s weightlifting since the late 1960s and still competes at her age. She has won numerous awards and is an eight-time Canadian Masters Champion. Walt holds 12 Masters records at the Canadian, Pan American and world levels.

She was inducted into the Canadian Masters Weightlifting Hall of Fame earlier this year and can now add the Belleville Sports Hall of Fame to her long list of accomplishments.

Also inducted into the hall of fame were former Belleville Bulls coach Lou Crawford, female golfing legend Kristen Maclaren and broadcaster Jack Miller.

More to come.
