BELLEVILLE – The Trenton Golden Hawks kept their spot atop the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s east division [2] secure with a convincing 5-2 win at home over the Cobourg Cougars Friday night.
The win came four days after Cobourg came to town and thrashed the Golden Hawks 5-1.
Friday night was a different story. The Golden Hawks scored five un-answered goals in the first two periods and fended off a comeback in the third where the Cougars scored two goals. The win came on the strength of two point nights by Andrew Suriyuth [3], Tyler Nielsen [4], Griffen Fox [5] and Kyle Robinson [6].
The Golden Hawks are back on the ice Friday at home against the Whitby Fury.
