BELLEVILLE – Belleville’s warming centre at Victoria Avenue Baptist Church [2] will be open for another night after welcoming people Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
Overnight temperatures in Belleville [3] are expected to drop to -12 C Thursday night with 15 km/h winds.
The city opened the warming centre at the church for the first time this year on Jan. 17. Previously the warming centre was hosted at the Belleville Public Library until the city opted to move it to the church after a report by the city’s fire chief recommended moving it.
The warming centre is open to anyone who needs a place to stay on cold nights. It opens at 8 p.m. and closes at 8 a.m.
