BELLEVILLE – The Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a stabbing that took place in the village of Hastings on Friday night.
Police say the victim was found outside a residence on Front St. E with obvious injuries after they responded to an emergency call placed at 10:30 that evening.
The victim was taken by emergency medical services to a nearby hospital, but was later transported to a Kingston hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
The suspect, a 33 year old resident of Trent Hills faces three charges including assault with a weapon, and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in October.
The name of the accused is being with-held to protect the identity of the victim.
The Northumberland OPP say the investigation is ongoing. They are investigating alongside the Central Region Forensic Identification Services.
