Power has been restored to more than 9,000 homes in Prince Edward County.
A power outage occurred around 8 p.m. on Nov. 22. Nancy Shaddick, a spokesperson for Hydro One, said broken insulators caused the outage. It’s unclear weather the broken insulators were caused by freezing rain experienced in the area that evening.
“Insulators can fail for numerous reasons and wind or storms are sometimes a big cause of reasons why they would fail,” she said.
Crews worked throughout the evening to fix the insulators. Power was restored a little after midnight.
