Loyalist students plan for the holidays

By Mike Morris

Students at Loyalist College talked about their plans for spending the Holidays after completing end of semester assignments and exams on Monday.

In the midst of preparing for the end of the fall 2012 semester, students came forward to share their plans for spending their time off during the holidays.

Second year Civil Engineering student Josh Culp said he didn’t know what he was going to do for the Holidays.

“I haven’t gotten there yet,” Culp said, saying he was still preparing for exams.

Construction and Engineering second year student Daniel Rogers said he would go home and spend time with his family, because he hadn’t seen them since reading week.

Calvin Docker, a manufacturing and engineering student in his first year, had a lot to say about his plans for the holidays.

“Go home, probably party a little bit, go hunting, fishing, hang out with my old man, fix trucks, have Christmas dinner, then probably come back here.”

Docker’s classmate, Dan Thompson, said he would go home, have fun, and maybe have a family dinner.

Connor Wells, a first year mechanical techniques student, said he would spend the holidays playing hockey, partying and having some family dinners.

Developmental Service Worker first year student, Lacy Baldwin, said she would spend the holidays with her family.

Shawna Jones, also from DSW, said she wasn’t sure what she would do for the holidays, because she didn’t really have anything planned.

Nicole DeJong, of Practical Nursing’s first year class, said she would “relax, and drink her face off.”

Fellow nursing student Jessica Sweet said she would “do nothing” to relax for the holidays.
