A former CFL player has been charged with fraud after a break in at his own restaurant.
Mike Botterill, 32, former CFL linebacker, was charged by police with fraud over $5,000. His business partner Wade Ennis, 28, was also charged with mischief and fraud over $5,000.
Botterill is an owner of ‘The Cove.’
Police were called to a break and enter at the restaurant in October 2012. After an investigation the B&E was found to be unfounded.
Botterill and Ennis were released with a court date in March.
Botterill played as a linebacker for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Edmonton Eskimos, and Montreal Alouettes.
