By Matthew Blair

BELLEVILLE – People who rely on Belleville Transit bus service can breathe easier, thanks a tentative contract deal reached with the city.

The deal was reached in a meeting Thursday night. The drivers have in legal strike position since a vote held two weeks ago.

No details of the deal are going to be released until the transit union and the city can  ratify it. A ratification vote by union members is scheduled for Sunday morning. A date for city-council members to vote on the deal has not yet been released.
