BELLEVILLE – Think twice about which items you pick up while grocery shopping. Certain salads have been recalled.
This recall includes products by Reser’s Fine Foods. Reser’s products can be found at your local Wal-Mart.
The original alert was issued at the end of October, and has now been updated to include additional products and codes because of possible Listeria contamination.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says food that contains Listeria may not look or smell spoiled but can cause vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. Severe cases can be fatal to the elderly and children.
Included in the recall are items such as coleslaw, macaroni salad and potato and egg salad. You can see a full list of recalled products at this link [1].
