Police won’t end Shannonville protest

By: Amanda Lorbetski

TYENDINAGA – Mohawk protestors are taking a stand against missing and murdered aboriginal women by blocking off an area near Shannonville. But as long as things don’t get violent, OPP say they won’t interfere.

Napanee OPP media relations officer, Jackie Perry, said the protests are peaceful and police are monitoring the blockade.

She said a small drone is circling the area, but it’s only there to keep tabs on the situation.
