BELLEVILLE – Art, music, theatre, dance and more will be featured during the second annual Belleville Culture Days downtown Friday, Sept. 26, to Sunday, Sept. 28.
The event is free to attend and will include many interactive and hands-on activities as well as performances.
There are over 45 events registered for Culture Days so far, as well as multiple visual artists being showcased at downtown galleries.
“Culture is a big part of the community; it celebrates absolutely everything,” says Erica Holgate, office and events co-ordinator for the Belleville Downtown Improvement Area. “Our Culture Days embrace everything from arts to music to theatre, as well as including community culture. We even have the Belleville Bulls coming down.”
Streets in the downtown area will be closed to vehicular traffic for the event. Holgate said the street closures will be much bigger than last year, with Front Street and side streets from the Empire Theatre to city hall closed. Holgate said she hopes this will help draw an even bigger turnout. There will also be yoga, zumba, and other activities taking place on the closed streets of downtown.
Culture Days is pairing up with the Belleville’s free transit day on Saturday, Sept. 27, giving everyone a chance to experience the event.
