BELLEVILLE – The annual Take Back the Night walk is coming back to the Quinte area.

The event takes place Thursday in Market Square starting at 6:30 p.m.

Take Back the Night was started to encourage women to publicly express their anger against sexual violence. It began in the late 1960s in Europe, then made its way to the United States, and has been taking place in Canada for 33 years.

The walk will start at Market Square and will continue on Front Street, Victoria Avenue, and Pinnacle Street.

More information on the Belleville event can be found here.
