Barry Turpin

With more than 30 years of experience in education under his belt, Barry Turpin thinks he can teach Prince Edward County council a thing or two as an acclaimed councillor.

The County native is a former mathematics and physical education teacher with the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board. Turpin is the only name on the ballot for ward 2 (Bloomfield.)

He operates Ayla’s Place, a bed and breakfast in Bloomfield, with his wife Elizabeth.

Turpin has a list of ideas to present to council, including creating partnerships with both Loyalist College and Queen’s University.
