Local musicians on display at Night Kitchen Too

By Sean McIntosh [1]

BELLEVILLE – Local acts will be performing at the Pinnacle Playhouse [2] for the Night Kitchen Too showcase Saturday.

Fourteen different musicians, both first-timers and veteran performers, will be playing live. The artist are performing by invitation. Each will play only one song, with the exception of feature act Patty Timms, who will play three.

“The musicians love it, because if they’re experienced they get to try a new song, and if they’re inexperienced it’s an opportunity to get up” and perform, said event organizer Gary Magwood.

Night Kitchen Too was “borrowed” from an event of the same name [3] in Wolfville, N.S., Magwood said.

The event has only been taking place in Belleville since this past spring, but the Pinnacle Theatre is close to selling out every time, he said.

The entertainment includes classical and a cappella music, spoken word, and even some excerpts from Pinnacle Theatre plays.

The doors for the show open at 7:30 p.m. and the event starts at 8. The Pinnacle Playhouse is at 256 Pinnacle St.
