BELLEVILLE – The Ontario Provincial Police [2] have teamed up with the Ministry of Transportation [3] in an attempt to make Ontario roads safer this winter.
The OPP released a statement [4]saying accidents on OPP-patrolled roads increased last winter. From Dec. 1, 2013 to March 31, 2014 a total of 33,334 accidents happened, a significant rise from the 25,953 that happened over the same four-month period in 2012-2013.
In an effort to reduce these numbers this coming winter, they have invited the public to express their thoughts on the official OPP Facebook page [5].
More to come.
