BELLEVILLE – Belleville’s Christmas at the Pier ceremony is taking place this Friday at Jane Forrester Park.
The free event is hosted by Mayor Neil Ellis and Bellville’s city council and is open to everyone.
For the past 50 years, Belleville has started the Christmas season by lighting the Foster family light display. The display was originally a memorial created by Don and Rita Foster for their son, Billy, and his friend Art Culloden, who died in a traffic accident on Christmas Eve in 1958. The memorial was recently refurbished through donations and funding from the city.
Other lighting displays will also be featured. The ceremony begins Nov. 14 at 6 p.m.
More to come.
