BELLEVILLE – A 36-year-old Colborne man is facing a total of 25 charges after police investigated an impaired driver complaint in the Grafton area.
The charges include impaired driving, driving over the legal limit, dangerous driving and driving under suspension.
He faces another 21 charges of failing to comply with a court order. Those court orders prohibited the man from drinking alcohol and driving a motor vehicle.
Cst. Steve Bates, the media relations officer at Northumberland OPP said every time the man broke a court order a separate charge was laid against him.
The man was charged after witnesses observed a Pontiac van driving excessive speeds and go through a stop sign on the night of Feb. 27. Northumberland OPP found the van on Orchard Grove Road.
The driver was given a roadside test and failed according to the Northumberland OPP.
The bail hearing for the Colborne man was Monday at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
