‘Look for Lungs’ to promote healthy breathing

By Tyler Renaud [1]

BELLEVILLE – The Loyalist Public Relations program is hosting the Look for Lungs scavenger hunt across downtown Belleville this Saturday at 10 a.m.

The event is being co-ordinated by students in the program along with Belleville Downtown Improvement Area [2] in support of the Lung Association. [3]

The Lung Association “promotes lung health and raises awareness through campaigns, advertisements as well as their own events,” said Julia Vriend, one of the project leaders from the PR program.

She also said that this scavenger hunt will be less difficult than most.

“It’s a little easier than a regular scavenger hunt – in that we won’t have people looking for a pencil, a toenail or glasses. We have people looking for (the Look for Lungs) logo in each of the stores,” she said.

Participants will complete a passport-style booklet, which will be filled with stickers received at each location in the hunt. Those who complete it will be entered in the grand-prize raffle valued at around $600.

“So what we’re doing is the same idea as when you travel and you get a passport stamp, so you can see all the countries you’ve been to – but we’re doing it with stickers,” Vriend said.

Passports will be $5 for an adult and $2 for a child. For more information check out the Facebook page A Look for Lungs [4].
