BELLEVILLE – Classical music is coming to the County.

The first event of the Prince Edward County Music Festival is on Friday at 7:30 p.m., when the New Orford String Quartet [3] will play at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Picton.

The marketing co-ordinator for the festival’s committee, Hedy Brambat-Kellar, said people are excited about the shows.

“We’ve got a very loyal core base that comes every year,” she said. “Ticket sales are going okay … On par (with) last year.”

Brambat-Kellar added that she is personally looking forward to a performance on Sept. 26 in Picton’s Regent Theatre [4].

“I’m very excited about the cabaret evening,” she said. “Patricia O’Callaghan [5] is a very well-known cabaret type of performer and I’ve never had a chance to see her live.”

The final act for the festival is on Sunday, Sept. 27. The full schedule is available here [6].
