Doughnuts for Alzheimer’s

By Stephanie Clue [1]

BELLEVILLE – The local Alzheimer’s Society [2]‘s turned doughnuts into dough Thursday.

For 20 years, the society has been selling Krispy Kreme [3] doughnuts to raise money for its programs.

The money raised will go towards programs that help people living with Alzheimer’s in the community. The Hastings-Prince Edward Alzheimer’s Society was outside selling donuts at Market Square, the Quinte Mall, Bridge St United Church and the society’s office at the Bay View Mall. The society offers many different informational services to raise awareness about the disease.

Last year’s fundraiser brought in $30,000, and the society hopes to exceed that this year.

A volunteer with the local branch, says the programs help the elderly suffering form Alzheimer’s.
