NAPANEE – With one week to go until Election Day [13], Liberal leader Justin Trudeau [14] drew a big crowd here as he made a brief campaign stop Monday afternoon.

Speaking outside a Tim Hortons restaurant, Trudeau told a cheering crowd of supporters that Canadians want something other than the policies of the Conservative government under Stephen Harper [15].

“Stephen Harper is afraid of you,” he said to cheers. “Hundreds of Canadians coming out to a Tim Hortons parking lot, demanding better – demanding change.”

Appearing with Trudeau was Mike Bossio [16], the Liberal candidate for Hastings-Lennox and Addington riding [17]. Bossio is running against Conservative incumbent Darryl Kramp [18]Betty Bannon [19] of the New Democratic Party and Cam Mather [20] of the Green party.

“Trudeau! Trudeau!” the crowd shouted as the leader jumped back on his campaign bus to head for his next stop, in Port Hope.

“Take care, Napanee!” Trudeau called in return.
