Halloween run at Batawa raises money for a good cause

By Megan Pounder [1]

BELLEVILLE – Local organization B&R Promotions [2] is raising money for Links to Learning [3] this weekend by hosting its second Halloween run at Batawa Ski Hill [4].

Links to Learning is a non-profit organization that helps parents, caregivers and educators of children with disabilities.

Run To the Hills 2: The Hills Have Eyes will take place on Saturday and starts at nightfall. The five- or 10-kilometre Halloween-themed run takes place on the ski hill and is filled with the sights and sounds of Halloween. Costumes are encouraged, but not required, and bright headlamps will be provided for runners.

A children’s mini one-kilometre run will happen at dusk and costs $10 per child.

The cost to register is $40 in advance or $45 on race day.

As with any event, organizers said they have faced some issues during the planning of it.
