BELLEVILLE – Students in Belleville and Trenton high schools have been walking out of classes in support of educational support staff.
Custodial staff have been on work-to-rule protests [3] for weeks because the provincial government has not reached a contract deal with their union. This means the janitors have stopped performing certain duties, such as the cleanup of debris in school hallways.
Students at Trenton High School [4] walked out Monday and at Moira Secondary School [5] in Belleville on Tuesday.
