BELLEVILLE – Hydro One customers are once again paying more for their electricity.
The rate increase, announced on Oct. 15, will impact businesses and residents alike. The on-peak hour use will increase to 17.5 cents per kilowatt. This marks a 77% increase in on-peak hour rates since smart meters became common in 2010.
Hydro rates are expected to take another jump in the new year when the end of the Clean Energy Benefit pushes rates up another 10%.
QNet News will be in touch with local business owners and home owners to find out how they feel about the price hike.
