By Tara Henley [1] and Matthew Murray  [2]

BELLEVILLE – A motivational speaker who was born without arms came to Belleville to speak to students at St. Theresa Catholic Secondary School [3] on Thursday.

Alvin Law [4] was born with a malformation caused by his birth mother’s use of Thalidomide, a drug commonly used in the 1960s to cure morning sickness. Law is now a successful author, an award-winning musician and has raised nearly $200,000,000 for non-profit organizations such as United Way [5] and Boys & Girls Club [6]. He formed AJL Communications Ltd. [7] in 1988 and has since shared his “Attitude Revolution [8]” message to over two-million people worldwide.

Law spoke at St. Theresa’s in the Learning Commons as a part of the school’s Wellness Matters [9] Week.
