Local website presents eco-friendly options for consumers

BELLEVILLE – A local Belleville man is starting a website which sells eco-friendly products manufactured in the Quinte area.

Jacob Gunsinger is launching EcoGifts next week. The idea behind it is to help consumers make better choices for the environment when buying gifts and products.  Everything on the site is 100 per cent environmentally friendly.

Products for sale include: recycled cards, crochet artwork made from recycled material, beeswax candles and carbon credits. With the purchase of a recycled card, the website also promises to plant a new tree in the Quinte region.

Gunsinger says he is meeting with Quinte Conservation next week to pitch a plan that will allow the gifted trees to be planted in conservation areas across the Quinte region.

The material and the manufacturing process all happens in the Quinte area and also helps the local economy as well as the local environment.

Qnet News reporter Angus Argyle has more on the story.
