BELLEVILLE – Local woman Kelly Oribine is working to bring a homeless shelter to the city. Oribine started a gofundme [2] page one week ago and is hoping to raise $10,000. In just six days, $2,085 has been raised. The money will be used to buy or lease a suitable building. The city does not currently have a space where those in need can spend the night.
On a website [3] dedicated to the shelter, Oribine states that the shelter will seek to “restore dignity to the difficult experience of homelessness, helping people to feel safe, valued, and empowered”.
The shelter will be called Grace Inn.
