Loyalist Lancers launch new website

BELLEVILLE – The Loyalist Lancers can now boast a brand-new website after months of development.

The new and improved site launched on Monday. It will primarily provide athlete news and game scores, says Loyalist’s athletic director, Jim Buck. He says he’s excited about the final result.

“I’m pleased to have it come to fruition, and we hope to hear all positive feedback.”

Buck says he’s already received good reaction from the athletes and staff who have seen it.

The new website was necessary because the previous one wasn’t at the level the athletics department wanted, he explains.

Members of the department will provide all the content and update the stories. Expect new stories every couple of days, Buck said.

There won’t be as much content during the summer months, but Buck says there will still be lots.

“We can do profiles on incoming athletes. There are summer camps. There’s always stories that we can find.”

At least one athlete is excited by the new website. Jillian Robinson, a third-year volleyball player and president of the student government, had only good things to say about it.

“It’s a lot more updated and it’s more appealing to anyone who goes on it. It’s easier to locate anything you’re looking for,” she said.

Robinson was quick to praise the athletics department, saying the staff worked really hard to get it going. The site is better for athletes, she said, adding that she hopes the good content continues.

“What I’d like to keep seeing is updating of game play and video of each game so we can watch ourselves and go through game tape and work on what we need to work on.”

Buck said there have been some bugs, but they’re working through them and the full version of the site should be available soon.
