BELLEVILLE – Belleville police said an anonymous female contacted them on Tuesday to report a potential fraud.
She said she received a personal email stating that her bank accounts at CIBC [2] were frozen.
She was then asked to go to a website where she was to provide her personal banking information.
The woman told police she does not bank with CIBC [2].
Belleville Police [3] said they have no leads as they have not received any similar calls, but are advising the public not to disclose personal information if this email begins circulating in the community.
