BELLEVILLE – A local skater and his partner have won big at this year’s Canadian Tire National Skating Championship [2], taking first prize in their division.
Belleville’s Trennt Michaud [3] and his partner Hope McLean dominated the competition this week, which took place in Halifax, after finishing fourth last year.
The duo now has a very high chance of clinching a spot on the Canadian team which will compete at the World Junior Figure Skating Championships [4] in Debrecan, Hungary this March.
The pair finished with a total score [5] of 154.45, which is 15.3 points more than the runners up Bryn Hoffman and Bryce Chudak.
More to come.
