Applications open for fund that helps health care in Trenton

By Isaiah Mawhinney [1]

BELLEVILLE – When Kay Stafford died in 1996 she left $1.2 million to the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation [2] to be used to help community groups in need.

Since then, the gift has helped 63 community groups provide first-aid training, ambulances, stretchers and more.

The foundation accepts funding applications annually. This year, community groups have until noon on March 25 to apply.
