Noise complaints lead to domestic assault charges

BELLEVILLE – A Belleville man is facing multiple charges after police received complaints about loud noises coming from a local motel room early Monday morning.

Police responded to calls at 12:20 a.m. from concerned motel guests who heard yelling and screaming in a nearby room.

As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old woman was taken to Belleville General Hospital, where she was admitted with non-life threatening injuries.

Police arrested a 35-year-old Belleville man on the scene.

The man was charged with forcible confinement and assault causing bodily harm. He is set to appear in court Monday afternoon.
