BELLEVILLE – Belleville council met Monday to talk about its 2016 operating budget.
Coun. Jack Miller told QNet News that council was looking to cut 2.5 per cent from the budget, and briefly looked into the idea of increasing transit fares and garbage-bag tags. Those ideas were rejected, he said.
Council was able to carve out $1.5 million from the budget, but Miller said there’s still 40 per cent of the budget to look at.
