TRENTON – The Trenton Golden Hawks [2] managed to secure a victory in a home game against the Wellington Dukes [3] with a score of 4-2, pulling ahead two games to one in the seven-game semi-finals for their division.

The two teams were neck and neck during the game at the Duncan Memorial Community Gardens [4].

Goals from Trenton included one from defenceman Adam Clements, a power-play goal by forward Hunter Fargey and two goals, one on a power play, by forward Liam Morgan. The two goals scored by the Dukes were from forwards Nicolas Mucci and Shaw Boomhower.

The game was intermixed with several scuffles and multiple penalties.

The Dukes and the Golden Hawks are major rivals, and Monday night’s game attracted close to 1,200 fans.

The Hawks won the first game of the series, then lost to the Dukes 2-3 last Friday.

The next game is this Wednesday in Wellington at 7 p.m.
