BELLEVILLE – CBC’s Dragons’ Den television show is travelling coast to coast holding auditions for future entrepreneurs, and will be stopping at Loyalist College.

The Dragons will be on campus in room 2H10 on Thursday, Feb. 23.

During the auditions, participants have five minutes to pitch their business idea. If you impress the Dragons, you will be invited to Toronto to appear on the 12th season of the show.

Loyalist’s dean of media, arts and design, Kathleen Bazkur, said  Dragons’ Den approached the college, and students in the Film and TV Production program were the logical choice to be involved, given their skill set in content creation.

She wanted the students to take part to give them the opportunity to meet the behind-the-scenes people involved in a popular Canadian TV series, Bazkur said in an email interview with QNet News.

The students will be taking part in the event as production assistants.

“I hope our students enjoy the experience, get to add this role to their résumés and make connections that may be able to help with placement opportunities or their future careers,” Bazkur said.

People who would like to pitch their business idea at the Loyalist audition can apply here [3].

The Dragons’ next stop will be in Kingston on Friday, Feb. 24.
