Search for missing woman continues; dog found dead

BELLEVILLE –The dog of a Quinte West woman missing for more than a week has been found dead on the shoreline at Presqu’ile Provincial Park.

Marjorie Lucas, 70, has not been seen since Saturday, March 25. The search for her continues, with police underwater and helicopter units involved, Northumberland OPP said Tuesday morning.

The police found the body of Casey, Lucas’s two-year-old springer spaniel, on Sunday.

Quinte West OPP found Marjorie Lucas dog Casey, the missing dog on Sunday deceased by the water at the shoreline at Presqu’ile Provincial Park.

Lucas’s Chevrolet Malibu was found last Tuesday in a parking lot on Harbour Street in Brighton. It was empty.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on Lucas’s whereabouts to contact the nearest OPP detachment.

Lucas is white, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 175 pounds, of medium build, with glasses and grey hair.
