This is the story of six-year-old Arianna Wease. This is her first year playing hockey and her second year on skates. Before joining the Tyke Timbits house league team her mother, Shannon Wease, entered her in the Jr. Mac Program. This program is open to girls and boys ages three to five to teach them the fundementals of hockey and skating. It was there that Arianna really learned to love the game of hockey.
At only six Arianna sees no difference between her male counterparts on the team. They are taught all the same and are friends. Shannon said that the other boys, their parents, and her daughter's male coaches treat Arianna, and the other girl on the team, with the same respect as the boys.
