Man dies after being trapped under vehicle

BELLEVILLE – A man died in a work-related accident involving a tow truck Tuesday afternoon in Quinte West.

According to a news release from the OPP, officers from the Quinte West Detachment along with Quinte West Fire Department and Hastings-Quinte EMS responded to a report of a man trapped under a vehicle on Carr Road, police reported.

Emergency services were able to take the vehicle off of the man and he was taken to the hospital. The man, however, died as a result of his injuries.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Ministry of Labour.
