By Lindsey Cooke

BELLEVILLE – Belleville police are kicking off the annual “Lock It or Lose It” campaign to start the holiday season.

Belleville police are joining other police services across Ontario to educate and encourage drivers to be cautious about vehicle thefts.

As part of the campaign, vehicles in parking lots will be checked throughout the city of Belleville during the holidays to ensure all vehicles are locked and the valuables inside are hidden.

Pamphlets will be placed on vehicle windshields to advise owners of the inspection.

The campaign is started last Friday and will continue throughout the holiday season.
