Construction on Elk Street in PEC

  • December 5, 2017 at 11:48 am

By Joseph Carin

BELLEVILLE – Prince Edward Country work crews will be doing sewage line repairs on Elk Street in Picton on Dec. 6.

The repairs are set to begin Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. and is expected to finish by 4:00 p.m. Elk Street will be closed and only available to local traffic for the duration of the repair. Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area if possible.

Residents living in the area may experience intermittent coloured water due to vibrations from construction but the municipality says water will remain safe to drink throughout the duration of construction.

If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter until clarity is restored.
