BELLEVILLE – Belleville Police are looking for a man in his late teens after he allegedly robbed a 15-year-old girl while brandishing a knife Wednesday afternoon.

The young woman was in the parking lot at the west side of the Bay View Mall plaza near Dundas Street East when she was approached by the suspect demanding her belongings, police said. The man fled the scene with the victim’s purse and her headphones. Police said the girl was not injured during the robbery.

The man is described as white, approximately 5 ft. 7 in. in height, thin with dirty-blond hair and a chinstrap beard. He was wearing a black ball cap with a red flat brim, red lumberjack zip-up coat, faded blue jeans with a white belt, red shoes with red laces and a silver ring on one of his pinky fingers.

After fleeing from the scene, he allegedly met up with a man on Karl Street. Both men were last seen running west toward Herchimer Avenue.

There have been no reported witnesses to the robbery and anyone with information is urged to call Const. Josh Woodcock at Belleville Police or Quinte Crimestoppers.
