BELLEVILLE – A 23-year-old man was arrested Wednesday for being drunk in public and then police discovered he had other outstanding warrants.

He was seen trying to open doors in the parking lot of a business near the intersection Highway 62 and Millennium Parkway, Belleville police said.

When the police arrived, they said they found him in a washroom, unsteady on his feet. He was then charged with being intoxicated in a public place.

Police checked his record and discovered that Quinte West OPP had put out warrants for his arrest which included one for assault.

He was turned over to the OPP and was held for a bail hearing.
