City council to discuss Loyalist College as evacuation centre

  • September 24, 2018 at 1:50 pm

By Syerra Turry

BELLEVILLE – City council will vote Monday on an agreement that would make Loyalist College an evacuation centre for the city.

If the plan is approved, the college would be used as short-term temporary housing during an emergency situation.

In past events, unequipped facilities have been used, such as the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre during a natural gas leak and local hotels during floods, city clerk Matt MacDonald told QNet News.

The meeting will be in council chambers on the fourth floor at City Hall at 4 p.m.
