Loyalist College offers help to students who can’t afford food

  • October 9, 2018 at 1:40 pm

By Leila Nasr

BELLEVILLE – A Loyalist College initiative is offering free food and personal hygiene items for students in need.

At the time the Student Food Cupboard opened last fall, there were over 100 visits from students within the first month, according to Ryan Stoness, Loyalist’s wellness co-ordinator.

QNet News will be talking to students this week about the food cupboard, finding out how many people use it and why.

The food cupboard is available to all students, domestic and international, full-time and part-time. The items are in the residence commons and access can be given upon request for an access card at one of four locations: the student health centre, financial aid centre, residence, or student success hub.
