Loyalist College celebrates Pride on campus

BELLEVILLE – The first ever Pride Week on campus was celebrated at Loyalist College.

“It’s important that we show leadership and support, not only at Loyalist College but in the community itself,” Ann Marie Vaughan, Loyalist College’s president, said during the Pride Week opening ceremony on Monday. At the ceremony, the rainbow flag in front of the Kente building and there were several speeches.

“I think this is the first of many years of celebration and acknowledgment at Loyalist College,” Vaughan added.

Through the week there are several events to support and acknowledge the LGBTQ+ community at the school.
